Was thinking that you may have shorted plates on your tuning condenser. To do this you will need to measure the resistance from the stator plates ( the plates that don't move) to the frame of the condenser with the plates closed (max capacity) Should measure open.

Hi Terry,
OK. Measuring from the non-moveable plates on the tuning condenser, on the front set, toward the dial, read open, (30-40 Meg Ohms). The rear non-moving set measure 45K Ohms across the entire span open or closed.
Maybe a clue?

As an update, I've removed the tuning condenser from the set. Now all of the non-moving stator plates are isolated from the frame. The wire that goes from the rear most connection of the condenser, to pin 5 of the 6A7 reads 45K Ohms.

Seems like that wire should be a dead short as per the diagram. Go ahead and replace it and if that gets you working again.
