Speaker wire colors

I would like to know what the wire colors were on early 1930s Philco sets. Specifically, I have an 89 THAT I CAN'T GET TO OSCILLATE. Today, they are all straw-colored. I'm sure one of the wires
Had a black leader stripe in it. I'll never find any of that! But I want it to look authentic. Which colors?

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure specifically about your 89 but I tried to assemble an authentic looking wire harness for my 16B in this thread:

You may be able to figure out the original wire colors from the portion on yours that was under the chassis - or look around the web for more pictures from better preserved examples.

Here's a picture of an 89B harness (not entirely faded):

   

And according to the service bulletin (#146B):

   

So the wires are green, white and green & white.

Hmmmmmm...I wonder if I could make that Green/white wire out of a white wire and a green Sharpie......? lol
