thanks.

No, like I mentioned the ID on RM is kinda' messed up, using the model names "1937, Deluxe, 525" and a bunch of other combinations, all of which relate to the radio - in the correct order.

Somewhere on the site I have a picture of its big brother, a 735, as I recall. A truly impressive "farm radio". I think it is in the "rare & unusual" tab.

Great looking set.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Thanks guys.

I am about a day away from buffing out the 5-F-134 cabinet. This is the 2nd farm radio - the one that needed to have the chassis replated.

Since I was doing one chassis, I decided to replat a 5-S-127 chassis as well. On it the variable cap and IF transformer covers were done as well. I had mentioned zinc plating previously. This chassis will also fit in the same Zenith cabinet.

I will add it to the blog asap.

Do you have pics of the re-plated chassis? Perhaps I missed it in your blog.

It will still be a few days before I have the Zenith reassembled. I will post pictures of the process then. The zinc plating was pretty easy and inexpensive.

Picture: from left to right -

As found
Cleaned up (some base metal exposed)
Replated

The picture was originally vertically oriented making the can on the right appear larger. In the original orientation it was closer - so appears larger.

Nice. looking forward to seeing the whole chassis after re-plating. When I clean up a rusty chassis with a lot of base metal showing, I paint, but would like to re-plate if it looks closer to original. Extra work as the sockets need to be removed. Although, I'm used to that with the Scotts!
