Philco 38-12
#31

Okay, there was light at the end of the tunnel. For one thing, I used two resistors, one 1k, one 500 ohms. Put them together wrong way, side by side. Sometimes when I'm tired it's best to drop things and walk away. So, starting fresh today, it's the first thing I noticed! So, used 1500 ohms, 10w resistor (total) to replace field coil. To reduce the hum, had to use 22 uf primary electrolytic cap, and 8 uf secondary cap. Humming problem is over!! Did some adjusting of the I.F. cans and padders again, and it is now working well. Thanks for all the help, Terry. As always, it was much appreciated!!!
