cap polarity
#1

Recently bought some electrolitics from mouser, and one of them is a 22uf 50volt 20% cap made by Vishay.
Cannot tell which end is positive.
It is an axial cap with one end having a sharp 90 degree corner with a black stripe on that end.
The other end has a 45 degree chamfer and no markings.
Just looks like a typical axial cap with one end having a chamfer and the other end having no chamfer, but a black stripe on that end.
Anyone know which end is which on this cap?
Thanks

murf,

You'd make it so much easier for us to help you if you either provided a picture, or better yet the full part number or mouser cat#. Why spent so many words describing when you know what picture is worth ( a thousand words)?

If I could figure out how to post a picture,I would have done that.
The mouser pn is 594-2222-138-21229
Mfg pn is mal213821229e3.
Looked at both and could not find anything that states polarity.
Thanks for the help.

Here's the datasheet for that part #: http://www.vishay.com/docs/28332/138aml.pdf

The end with the chamfer / crease is positive.

Why is this so difficult for people? Seriously...I'd really like to know.
