New Philco 3650.
#1

Well this one is new to me ..At least it's my latest radio.
A friend of mine  bought some 78 from me  about  six months ago and yesterday he sent me an email
telling me of this radio.  My friend had bought an old gramophone from an add on Kijiji and  thought I would be interested in this radio. So I bought it over the phone. $50.00
I picked it up today, and it looks like it is not molested . I will have to redo the sides and top of the cabinet.
but it has the original grill cloth and knobs.  it also had this sort of after market antenna which I will try.
I just finished one of these last year and so this one won't be too hard to work on.
It's those Bakelite blocks that I don't like ,but I am getting used to them.

Nice find! That must be the Canadian version of the US 650B.

Backelite blocks are (for me) easier to work on than tubulars. No potting. And no desoldering.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

I like that little "Bestenna".  Even if it doesn't work any better than a 10' lead-in wire it's a nice display piece.

I have to agree with morzh on the Bakelite blocks. If you haven't seen it, check out morzh's post on how to do them easily.
