Sorry, not sure where to find a schematic on that without searching the NET.

Sorry, Nope that's not it. I'll try to find the model # here. Unfortunately Nova-Tech had a whole series of radios by the same name(?) Makes searching fun.

To quote myself from my other post:

I recently picked up a Nova-Tech "Air o' Ear" model 5BA. It's a 'modern' (50's-60's?) all tube LF AM MF HF VHF reciever with slide rule dial tuning.

I've found some pics of a bunch of other Nova-Tech's out there but never any of this model.

I'll have to get off my a** and post some pics of it. Despite my best efforts I can't seem to find much of anything on the model I have. I suppose my next avenue is to see if I can find a schematic on a similar model and trace it out to see if it might be 'related'.

I've got plenty of other radios to play with so I'm in no hurry on this one. It's the most complete of the ones I have.

Thanks,
John

Nova-Tech did make quite a few radios for use by pilots, and judging from one I have, they were good sets. Early Japan stuff, and good performers.

The one I have is a transistor set, and is known as "Pilot II". Without looking, I think it has the same coverage mentioned in your early post. Since these sets were all postwar II, I wonder if the dope would be in a Sams folder. I can check. I have a few hundred Sams folders in my garage in boxes and file cabinets. I'll look for the set in them, before I give them away, or take them to a paper drive.

This little NovaTech I have picks up the airliners and the Detroit Metro airport traffic. It's a remarkable set, and was probably not cheap at the time.

Prior to WW II, Lear made that stuff, and the portable sets were tube chassis. I even have one made by Bendix; another nice tube portable.

Doug,

Thanks, that would be a great help. I took some pics this morning, I'll try to post them soon. Ok, how about right now!
