Philco 16b tuning grommets
#1

Hello all,

I am gathering parts to begin working on a 16b.  What are ya'll using for the 1/2 tall tuning cap grommets?   I think the largest Renovated Radios makes is 7/16.  I know I can trim a couple and stack them together, but I wanted to see if anyone had found a singular spacer of the correct height and dimensions to use.

Thanks,

~Jon~

I used furniture silicone rubber pads sold in home depot. They come in packets of 4 and have a hole in the middle for the screw. You can cut them down to size with a box cutter blade.

I got two different sizes of rubber grommets on epay. One size fits the hole in the chassis, might be 3/8". The other fits snugly onto the outside of the collar that the the screw fits thru. Might be 3/16" I cut it in half and put half on top and half on the bottom. Works fine and the larger ones can be used for other things too. Price was good came in bags of 50 pcs ea.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!
