Philco AT 200 timer info
#1

Hello,
Trying to find info on a Philco AT 200 timer. Telechron clock movement.
When was it made? Was it used to turn a radio on off ?

Google search produced nothing.

Thanks
Chris

A couple pictures from the eBay ad.

It's from the 1950s. As the outlet is rated at 1100 watts it could have been used for automatic control of a television as well as a radio.

I have no info on it, sorry.

1100 Watts....with this cord and plug?

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Hi Gang,
The cord looks like the 16 gauge cords from clock radios of the era. Clock Radio outlets were rated for 1100W. 16 gauge zip cord is likely rated by the NEC for 10A, as 14 gauge is rated for 15A. the spec for lamp cord may be a little more lenient, as they are in 'free air" instead of being in a wall. Current 16 gauge extension cords are labeled 1175 W at 120V, so 1100W at 115V sounds right. Thee numbers are for "resistive" loads, like the coffeemaker. (How many clock radios had kitchen grime on them?)
