This is for sale on eBay. Notice that it is an early model 16 five band chassis, BUT it has what appears to be a dual drive tuning contol.

These do have dual drive tuning (push-pull).

Look closely at the front view of the chassis, that is clearly a concentric tuning shaft. Tom is right.

Notice also the rivets on the dial scale, which are obviously not original.

Something's rotten in Denmark, methinks...

Wow who could of concocked that setup.....something is fishy.

Could be. The power transformer and condenser bank are early five-band. The dial is an easily replaced item, not so for the dual drive. At least, I don't think it is easy.

Another Phranken?

I am tempted to make an offer just to see what is goin g on with this set....

It's not strictly kosher, but one does have to grudgingly admire the work. Maybe the guy simply couldn't get the original tuning setup, and did what he could to get the radio back into service? It's rather clever, actually. What would you say that mech came from? Maybe one of the 600 series?

+1....

My curiosity about this chassis is large. Dual drive with five bands is a neat combination.
