Phono Cartridge
#1

I have a 46-1256 radio phono and the phone only lets out a small
sound from the needle/cartridge but not from the speaker. The radio plays great through the speaker. Is the cartridge bad? if so where can I find a cartridge for a Philco radio/phonograph model 46-1256

Welcome to the Phorum!

If it's a table model radio / phono combo, are you sure you don't mean model 48-1256? There wasn't a 46-1256. There was a 46-1226 console radio / phono. The first two digits of your model number indicate the year of manufacture of your set.

At any rate, regardless of which model you have, more than likely the cartridge is bad. You may be able to find a suitable replacement here: http://www.thevoiceofmusic.com/

Or, you may be able to have your cartridge rebuilt here:

Greg, Thanks for the reply, you are right the unit is a 46-1256. West-techservices would be the best bet, they are closed till 5/5/2014 due to moving.

Be sure to mention to West Tech the phono
changer is a Philco Model D-10.
