Ron, can you please identify this 116 chassis?

I want to order the proper service literature for it..

Yes - as it has a short power transformer and 6-pin sockets on the left for type 42 tubes, it is a 116B Code 121 chassis.

116X Code 122 sets have a thicker power transformer (more iron), and the two tube sockets along the left edge of the chassis as shown in your photo would be 4-pin sockets for 6A3 tubes.

You may find this page useful as you service your 116:
http://www.philcoradio.com/tech/116.htm

It outlines undocumented changes to the 116 AVC circuit.

Wow Ron
Your really  good at chassis

Sam

Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as a gift

Wait - hold the phone, folks.

No, I'm not that good...once again, a case of looking at something right after getting up... Icon_redface

Let's try this again.

That chassis has round tube shields! Icon_wtf

Brenda, can we see the front of the chassis, please, showing the dial scale? From the back, the dial setup looks like a 116 but the chassis itself looks more like a 16 Code 125...

And can you tell me this: Does the band switch have 4 positions, or 5?
