40-216 Remote Control
#1

Does anyone have any pictures of the wireless remote control that came with the Philco 40-216?
Oops, I see that I have inquired about what is referred to as the Philco Mystery Control. I found the information on the website. Now I know what it looks like. I will have to absorb all the data presented on the unit. I may have a chance to get a 40-216 that was equipped with the mystery control. I don't think the mystery control is with the radio any more though.

Thanks in advance.

The Mystery control sets are very interesting. I have restored a 39-116 and its little brother a 39-55 both are MC sets. The mechanism can be a real pain in the butt to get working correctly. However once working it will make a great conversation piece.

I have parts for the 39 model year MC sets, I believe most will work in the 40 model year sets. Let me know if you need any parts.

Keith;

Thanks for your offer of parts. I will soon get to look over the radio to see if it is a candidate for restoration. I think it may be. It was purchased new and owned by an older couple. It may be in relatively good shape as it is still in the house where they lived. Hopefully it has not been subject to mice infestation.

Joe
