Philco D-10A Cartridge
#1

The Philco 46-1209 that I am working on for a friend has the D-10A magnetic cartridge. The cartridge works and has an original style needke in it so it is OK. has anyone found a source for these needles or are they still unobtainium? I need to re-flock the turntable and get a new idler but I don't want to spend that money if I can't provide my friend with a player that he can't get spare needles for.

What about the possiblity of converting it to the D-10 crystal cartridge which I understand is still available? I know the output will be higner but that can probably handled with some mods. I was thinking more of mounting the carttridge.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Wayne

You have to get real lucky to find a needle for the D10A, I found one on ebay once, only once. it is virtually uno btainable, there are others still trying to find one. I hear you can switch to the D10 tone arm with the crystal cartridge instead.

Keep checking ebay it's your best bet I was luck enough to get one.
