e- cap question
#1

Working on re-capping an RCA 816k chassis, and someone in the past has replaced the e-caps with Mallory cans.
I have one that is a Mallory FP-214.
rated at 50 mfd and 50 mfd.
The voltage marking on the can is rubbed off.
The schematics don't specify voltage on the parts list.
Anyone know what the voltage should be on caps 53 and 54?
Thanks,
murf

Mruf, it is always nice to add a link to the schematic when asking questions such as yours.

The two caps are listed as having 368 and 359V across them respectively.
This means they can experience close to 500V surge at cold startup.
I would use 500V rating.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Ok,

Thanks for the help.
