Philco 48-472 Code 121
#1

2 years ago roughly, I picked up a 48-472 on impulse for $25 at a flea market. Not being familiar with this era radio, it has been sitting on the shelf. Recently, one of my pinball buddies of several years dropped by to see my new collection of radios, and said he'd like to buy it once it's restored. While my interest in radios is mainly 1930s, I decided it would be nice to have at least 1 FM radio in my collection, and kept an eye out for another one. I found and bought a 2nd copy, as was discussed in the November Phinds thread.
At one point, I couldn't find the paperwork, so I went to eBay, and found a Sam's Photofact folder for this model. It's been filed away. I finally pulled it, and realized it is for the revised version of this model. Both of mine are apparently early versions- code 121. The chassis and tube layout is different. Does anyone have a good quality scan of the proper paperwork for this version? I did find it in a 1949 PDF online, but it is difficult to read, and not as complete as this later, revised folder. Any help appreciated.

I have been slowly going through and replacing the film caps, and am getting ready to replace the electrolytics.

As mentioned and discussed, the dial on these 2 are different. I also noticed all the labels on the front of the cabinet are missing on the latest one I found. My earlier one has labels, but are severely worn. Anyone replace these labels on a model similar? Any suggestions or ideas welcome.

The original back on my 1st copy is missing, as well as the antenna. While I now have a back to trace and cut out a replacement, a replacement antenna is more of a challenge.

Also, any tips or suggestions on working on this era model? My main experience is 1930s Philcos.
Thanks for any help!
