Zenith 6S229 Tombstone

I have a question about The Resistance readings on the following>>>

Power Transformer
Antenna Coil
Osc Coil
Output Transformer
IF Cans

My schematic has NO values for any of these..

Or does anyone have a different schematic with values on it...

>Power Transformer  The highest resistance will across the HV winding(around 200-400ohms or so) next the 120v primary (10-30ohm) the the heater windings (just a few ohms)

Antenna Coil Pri pretty low 2-6ohms  secondary pretty low also about the same.
Osc Coil Same as ant coil
Output Transformer primary 200-500 ohms secondary low a few ohms

IF Cans about 10-30ohms.

Mostly when you are checking the resistance of these items you are looking for a very high resistance indicating that the winding is open.
Generally with coils the lower the frequency the higher the resistance because it take more wire to make more inductance.

Here is where you can get the belt you need.
It looks like you have your work cut out on this one, but it should turn out good .

Need to see a picture of the cabinet and how many of the Zenith wood knobs does it have?

The 6-S-229 has a photo finish so condition plays into the value:

To be perfectly honest I never care about exact resistance reading of coils. If the coil is original and not open, it is OK and this is a fact. And you can tell open (infinite ohms)or leakage (hundreds of K to Megs to Gigs) from real resistance (units to tens of Ohms in RF coils, hundreds ohms in output xfmr primaries etc). And ohmmeter will not tell you about turn shorts.

So it is a waste of time to try to find out exact numbers. See if it is open. If not, it is presumed good. Rare cases of leakages and turn shorts are diagnosed by symptoms.

Hey,
The Photofinish looks good to me.. I would just clean up the cabinet personally.
If you want it better then strip the top only and refinish it...
DO NOT touch the photofinish...
Black magic marker will fix the trim issues...
I know you dont do cabinets (yet) but this is an easy one....

I think $75.00 max.. Probably $50.00...

Easy for you to say. If I were shocked 60 times, I'd say the same. Icon_lol

Have another question... How do you clean the dial? It seems to have spots .. I think when cleaning the pots some cleaner might have gotten on it.. I do not remember seeing them there before..

Waiting on parts and belts .. Should be here this week .. Then start recap..

Thanks...

Find an inconspicuous spot, try mineral spirits.
If it works, you could do the rest.
