A question of polarity
#1

While searching for a suitable speaker, I've been recapping the Stewart Warner model 1691 / R-172 chassis and have a question on the two 16 mfd electrolytic caps, #25 & 26 on the schematic:

 http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymodel...021218.pdf

I'm "assuming" #25 has the negative side to ground?

But number 26 has me stumped because the symbol for the capacitor on the schematic is just two straight lines, giving no indication of polarity. Can anyone tell me if the negative side of the cap should go to the speaker plug and the rectifier tube or the positive side? Terry?

Thanks!

Positive goes to the rectifier tube and speaker plug, negative to center tap for cap #26

Positive goes to speaker plug, negative to ground for cap #25

Icon_thumbup Many thanks! That's how I had them wired in.
