Model and date of Philco radio
#16

Man you guys are good! There is an oval cut-out behind the dial! I can see now where the philco face plate was put over the front of another cabinet. It is not visible in the pictures but at the front of the chassis you can see where the wood was chipped out to make it fit. Thats amazing!!! Whoever did this did a masterful job in making a presentable radio. You can't help but wonder what happened to the original cabinet. I probably would never had noticed without your help. I believe it is a 1935, 118 that was put in another cabinet. I'm on the look out for old radios. I'll show you the next one I find.
thanks,

earnestly

I've run across that cabinet before, it's pictured in RadioMuseum.

I was thinking Emerson, but it took me a while to find it again. Here it is, apparently used with a couple different model chassis:

According to Earnest, the original cabinet front is still there, behind a face plate cut for the Philco.
