Philco D-10A Phonograph in 47-1230

I put a new needle in the tonearm and powered up the phono, it runs slow. Any ideas on how to get it running at the proper 78 speed. All the service under the phono has been done with parts clean and oil and grease in the proper locations.

I would take the platter off and check the rubber drive wheel that presses against the platter. Make sure it has good friction and is pushing with enough pressure on the platter. If this looks good, is the motor running slow to begin with? Put a little pressure on motor and see if it stops or slows very easy. Check voltage to motor, if good the motor may need replaced or taken apart and cleaned.

Thanks Warren for your quick replay, Tried your suggestions and removed the platter. The idler wheel was 70 years dirty so i cleaned it. It felt kind of soft and after cleaning it and the drive motor shaft all is good. Put on a stack of 78's and she played and dropped records as designed. This one is done.
