The 41-90 i got for free has numerous problems but i am confident to get threw this and still have most
of my hair. The second if transformer has a open coil part number 32-3199 any ideas on how to fix this?
or what do i replace it with.

I was able to repair an open IF in a compact stereo by removing the case and re-soldering the coil leads at the terminal lugs. One had broken away. If you're lucky it might be that simple.

I have actually thought about that but i haven't got that far. I am hoping that is all it is,it would be nice there is alot more wrong with it than i thought, for a 4 tube radio. This is my first resteration.

I'd give the transformer a good looking over. Check it for the green winding disease. If it's got it you will need the replace it. Depending on the mounting I like Ktran transformers. Probably it will be smaller than the oem job. Diagram sez IF fq is 456 KC. A 455KC can will work fine.

No "probably" about it, har-har. OP is talking about a 1941 model.

Never seen 'green winding disease' on a 40s Philco IF either. I lead a sheltered life.

I'm with David Berman. The the most common cause of an open 40s IF xfmr is at the lugs.

Hope both of yous guy are right. I've got model 600 with an intermittent problem of the IF going in and out in oscillation (regeneration). Granted it's a bit older (1936) but I think the feedback winding is causing the problem. Did get it apart kind of as the rivets at the bottom of the can won't let the ceramic trimmer pass by. It doesn't have lugs just wires extending out of the top and bottom. Everything looks good inside so I was thinking about use a heat gun and an ohm meter to see if I can get it to act up. I will be sure to resolder the internal connections and hope for the best. When it's working it surprisingly well for a simple set.
