39-6CI Ant Transformer
#1

Apparently what I got was a project that someone gave up on ,
I believe this set was hit by lighting, burning up the original antenna transformer! On the inside of the cabinet it's smoked/burned on the ant side ,not the power side ,at first I though this was odd? Then I found that someone used another antenna transformer from something else ,and could not get the set to play ,I found the primary and secondary linked togather I broke the link and know it plays! I feel it would get better reception if I could find an original ant transformer, anyone know of one? part# 32-2583

Hi Bill

I don't know of one offhand, but an antenna coil from any 39-6, 39-7, TH-3 or 38-12 will work (all are basically the same radio with some variations).

As far as that goes, one of those "universal" antenna coils could probably be made to work. Antique Electronic Supply used to sell them, but I do not know if they still do.

I wound one once (for a different model) using a ferrite toroid and it worked out perfectly.
