Did Philco make a tool
#1

for releasing these clips from the bottom of the aluminum rf/if cans? Sometimes there located in tight spots near the bandswitch and can be difficult to release. Sometime I've been able to squeeze them from the top of the chassis but that generates another issue. When I grab it from the top it tends to push it out of the center of the hole and then I can't compress it enough to fit thru the hole.
Maybe someone like Ford has a better idea??

Steve Davis will make one.... Steve... Steve... where are you.... Icon_biggrin

just kidding...I've not seen anything that would do that..

I seem to recall seeing such a tool in one of the old Philco parts catalogs...but have never seen one in person...

I have a pair of heavy duty long nose pliers which do a good job of pinching these sort of clips just enough to remove the attached shield cans on Philco and RCA sets.

I'm thinking that a pair of duck bill pliers, or at least pliers with a flat end, and smooth jaws, would work best, at least that's what I have used in the past.
