First Restoration -- Already Stumped :o)
#1

I was given a Philco Transitone 46-200 that I am planning to restore electrically and cosmetically.

I am a little puzzled before I even get started.  The radio is clearly a 46-200 based on the chassis layout, case design, and the fact that the back of the chassis is stamped "MODEL 46-200".

So why would the bottom of the case have a label/sticker that says "MODEL 46-250  CODE 121"?

Both the ink stamp on the chassis and the label on the bottom of the case appear original and unmodified.

Thank you in advance.

My guess...I suspect someone in the factory made an error and slapped the wrong label on the cabinet and they were not going to waste a cabinet nor try to scrape it off so down the line it went with the wrong label on it. Icon_confused

Thank you!   I can live with that.  And it makes my radio unique!
