metal bezel
#1

How to clean the metal bezel on a 39-25.  Bezel is just dull, what process is used for restoring to the original brilliance. How are the station call letters removed for cleaning, where can i get new call letter tabs?

Here's what I did:

...and here's where I learned it from:

I suspect that it's plated steel and if you try to polish it you'll remove the plating. Damp cloth mild soap and dry. I didn't see anything for your particular set but I did see this https://philcoradio.com/library/index.ph...etter-kit/

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Those escutcheons are brass I think, but try putting a magnet on it to make sure.

I suspect, ultrasonic bath with the aforementioned mild detergent or even acetone (if it is not paint) will do it good.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

One way to replace the tabs is to print them on a P-touch printer with white-on-black tape. You may need to control it from a computer to get the font and size to be a good match to the original.

Hello guys,
I like Dale's idea I have both the label maker made by Dymo and Brother !
Anyway did you check to see if the was brass plating or not ?

Check out:

These were originally for the 39-116, but I believe that the size of the tab, and lettering should be the same as yours. I photoshopped some for my 39 - 116 and printed them on presentation paper (thicker than regular copy paper) and they turned out great.
