Philco Jr. Model 81 Antenna
#1

First I would like to thank everyone for the wealth of information found on this and other similar websites. This helped me immensely during my recent restoration of a Philco Jr. Model 81 radio. The radio is now playing great. Icon_biggrin

The radio I have does not have an Antenna or back. I was wondering if there was one supplied as part of the original set and if so, how I would go about recreating one. I am currently just using a piece of wire connected to the antenna input on the volume control.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

None of the Philcos cathedrals had a back cover. Nor did they have a loop ant. They where designed to have an outdoor ant. As long and as high as you can get it. A good ground will help too. It will make the volume control work better.

No wonder I can't find anything on them. Thanks for the information. Icon_thumbup
