Philco 49-1076 WEIGHT
#1

I'm trying to ship, in one way or another, my Philco 49-1076 combo from Minneapolis back home to Central CA. I really need to know the weight of this unit, though at this point I'll accept an educated guess. Any help would be great. I'm guessing at 250 lbs.

Well, I apologize but I guess none of us know the answer!

I would say your guess is a very good one. If that is real solid wood and not just cheap stuff, maybe even 300 lbs.?

I had a Scott Philharmonic shipped from Kansas to here by Craters and Freighters, and I had to guess at the weight because I didn't know. I seem to recall that I guessed low, but they didn't penalize me.

Good luck with the move!

At least between 250 and 300lbs.

Yeah, i also think it between 250lbs to 300lbs.

It needs to be shipped via a reputable furniture/antique mover and not a standard shipper like Fedex, ups, etc, etc...

You guys are way off. My friend has one and it's only around 100 lbs. It's just a 10" TV and the radio/phonograph doesn't add much. Cabinet is made from veneered plywood with a hardwood frame - probably poplar.

I am with Bob on this one. My guess is 120-140lbs.
