Philco 66 Restoration Chronicles
#46

Definitely have to be historically accurate. Especially sine it is Mikes cabinet Icon_lol

Thanks for the No blush info.

She is done and set aside to dry.

Great looking job,

Did you spray clear over the new "Philco "logo or applied it afterwards? I am about to attach mine, wonder which way to go. Thanks.
#51

You have to clear the decal itself and the wood before and after application

So then you will not be rubbing out the top of the grill, as it might reach decal, right?
#53

I will be rubbing out the whole cabinet. You should have a good thick layer of lacquer over the decal. Rubbing it out should not affect the decal or hasn't on any of my radios.

Thanks, Kirk.

Just put a couple coats of clear on top and should be no problem. Without the clear the letters will wipe right off.
#56

I already have 5 heavy ones and 10 days in drying. Live and learn.Might have to put it in after the buffing out and coat it with a thin lacquer ever so lightly.
#57

I am 99% done with this cabinet.

The final coats cured for only 2 weeks but I 400-2000 sanded and she is ready for wax.

Waxing hurts.
Be gentle on her.
