Old tube radio in Star Trek

From the episode "A Piece of the Action", about a planet with a gangster culture like Chicago's 1920s.  Can't see much of the radio's front, but there's a better view of the back.  Cap't Kirk then tears off what I think is the antenna coil  Icon_eek , to set a trap, ...

Wondering what radio this is.   Icon_angel

 It kinda looks like my RCA r-8 I believe it is an R-8 . Im going to call mine the Enterprise radio , beam me up Scotty. I'm giving her all she's got captain

Looks like the same chassis as my R7A.

 It's similar, in fact the Star Trek set probably used the same circuit as my CGE J82. That same basic chassis design was used in G.E, RCA, and Westinghouse sets, both in the U.S and Canada from 1931 till the 1933 model year, the main differences being in tube lineup and band coverage. Some have push pull #45s, others have single ended #47s, others have push pull #47s.
