Philco 650X speaker question- need advice
#1

Hello Philco phorumers!

I have just registered on this wonderful site. (Thank you Ray!)

I bought a 650X at the Rose Bowl flea market (Pasadena) but it was missing the speaker.

I am NOT experienced in fixing old radios but I did study electrical theory at 'A' Level in England.

I discovered that the H-13 was the right speaker. I found one on eBay and bought it in a hurry because I'd been searching for 2 years. I may have been a little hasty. Perhaps one of you could advise?

The speaker has H-13 stamped clearly on the field coil area and per seller the parameters are as follows:

1/ 1.2K ohm field coil

2/ Center-Tapped transformer @ 309 ohms

3/ Voice coil resistance 0.7 ohms

Does this sound about right in your opinion?

Thanks,

Justin.
