Working on a General Electric GE J64 radio circa 1941.  http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/104/M0008104.htm

Anyway it once had a back because there are screw holes,  anyone have a picture?

I just finished one, and the back was missing on mine as well. I made a new one based on a picture on radiomuseum.org. I can take a pic of mine if you want, but the one on rm.org is pretty good.
These are nice sets, good luck with yours.
