Midwest Radio K-18

 Midwest was really scraping the surplus parts bins when they built that thing, look at that bundle of electrolytic caps twisted and bundled together, that is unless it was a crude repair but they are Solar brand just like most of the paper caps one can see. But even if they were not original this chassis obviously had the original filter caps mounted underneath rather then in cans above the chassis. Then we have those marvelous "dogbone" style resistors with the B.E.D code, it's pretty obvious that they were building their sets with surplus parts, the IF cans look a bit old fashioned as well. What surprises me is that they used molded Bakelite tube sockets, which were more then twice the price of the wafer ones, which is always a good thing on a radio you have to restore.
