Ron, I had Nordmand Othello 55. This is a similar model with Fidelio. I must say that you are right and there really are similar design elements, especially with the placement of an optical indicator of the setting and scale. But in general, this model is already a new generation of German radio and they are made on "finger" radiolamps.
Something similar in design and circuitry in the USSR began to appear in 1957 in models Lux and Belarus 57.
