Thanks Arran, i got most of it off with the remover, but still have to do a little sanding to get the rest off. All and all its looking pretty good. I have a few dings to fill, then on to the grain filler. Not sure what to use for that. Couldn't find anything at Lowes. Will keep reading to see what others are using.
