They warn about many gain-related quirks in the manual.

As someone said, 7G605 are turds. Rare, sought after, etc, but turds nevertheless Icon_lol

Well, it was the first ever portable multi-band SW receiver, it was a learning curve for Zenith.
People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
