I agree on that tube drawing-thing. The only thing worse to me are the tubes drawn upside down 
. . . . . or at least what we, late-to-the-game think is upside down, ( Silvertone, etc.) But the industry did , indeed, come to a standard on this later, and that standard is what I grew up with in the 60s and got used to. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
