The "B47" is part of the serial number and nothing much to do with the model number. The brand and model is a Delco model 986146 and is from1947. I saw the Riders but like you said not much there. You could try Sams Photofact. They produced service information from 1946 on. Their manuals are still under copywrite so for the most part you have to buy them. Unless a friend has the folder you need and can scan it on the down low. The folder for your set is #28-6 It may or may not have the dial stringing info in it but generally they are a little more in depth than the Riders.
