I hope to perform an alignment on my 37-690 this weekend, and could use some advise on how to best do this.

When I was aligning my 38-116, I found several points where I could hear a signal from the generator, as I was adjusting the trimmers. This is confusing. How do you know which one is correct? Is it the loudest one, the first one?

Also, any other tips on alignment would be helpful to me. I never really had any training on doing this, and could use some general advise.
