Help finding tube
#2

Hello Jim. I looked at the schematic for your friends Philco mod 41-258. It does have a 35Z5 GT (rectifier tube). There is no such tube as a 35ZGT. I bet one of the numbers rubbed off the old tube and that caused the confusion. The 35Z5 GT tubes are readily available as many radios use the same tube as the rectifier. You can get one from Antique Electronic Supply (http://www.tubesandmore.com) If your friend needs a copy of a free online schematic, he can download and print one at (http://www.nostalgiaair.org/) . Once at the website, click on schematics, scroll down to Philco made in USA, click on Philco, then scroll down to model 41-258 (code 121) and print it out at 100% on his computer printer.
