Finally got my 40-180 this morning.

Out of the three XX-#80 models I prefer the 40-180, if nothing else the ones thing it has going for it is the brass escutcheon and the Bakelite knobs. Reproduction pushbuttons are not hard to come by and are relatively inexpensive.
At one point I was contemplating getting the Canadian version of a 41-280, apparently they do not use as much of that crappy rubber covered wire as the U.S versions do. The problem was it needed everything, knobs, pushbuttons, escutcheon, the lot, and he wanted $80 I think. I suppose if I really wanted it I could have negotiated the price down, but the fact that it needed about $60 of repro parts made me walk away.
