What speaker is needed

Bill - you must be looking at a 37-116 or 38-116 schematic. What Radoez has are Model 116X chassis (1936) , which are totally different animals.

116B - 1125 ohm field
116X - 1450 ohm field
37-116 - 360 ohm field
38-116 Codes 121 & 125 - 350 ohm field

These values are taken from the various Philco Service Bulletins for each Model. Don't know where you're getting the 310 ohm figure, but that is close to 37-116 and 38-116 territory...

Note that the second to last link above (116X, Nostalgia Air) erroneously
gives the field as 1125 ohms. This was an error done by Philco's draftsmen; the U-9 speaker used in the 116X has a 1450 ohm field.
