Mike, thanks much for the reply and pic! Mine isn't anything like that one. Someone in the past has done a real butcher job on this radio. Under the chassis there are numerous parts just scabbed on top of others, some not even soldered in place. They also evidently did some rewiring of the speaker eliminating that plug and socket. So now all I need is to figure out what to use for a socket and plug and where I can find one. Thanks again so much for your reply.
