What you are calling an "antenna cable" isn't an antenna cable at all. This is the audio cable. The "black metal box" is a matching transformer.
The two wires from the chassis to the screw terminals should be the 6.3V feed to light up the lamp inside the pickup. There should be a separate cable to power the phono motor, which definitely would not connect to those two screw terminals as that would be a major safety hazard, even in 1941.
I am at a loss as to what the "silver cylinder" might be. Can you post a photo? Also, if you can, post a photo of the underside of the phonograph.
