Help needed for identification
#1

I've found yesterday a small radio (Canadian model -15$) and I'm trying to find the schematic, but the parts number do not fit with the schematics I have (Beitman). The line resistor is around 300ohms (110+190) and the part #33-3372. The tubes: 35z3, 35a5, 7a8. 7b7. 7c6; I will post some pictures, if somebody has any info's.
The heaters of the tubes seems to be ok (I don't have a tube tester). I'll try to restore this small radio (re-cap, clean, etc..). It's my first Philco. The cabinet it's all wood. Should I sand-it and paint-it with polyurethane base paint?

Some other information's: chassis type 26, stamp on the chassis: P 4233; written inside the box with pain: xxx.12.39 (the xxx characters are under the paper with the lamps location and I can't remove the paper without destroying-it).

Welcome to the Phorum!!! Icon_wave

I believe the Canadian model 26 is similar to the US TP-12. See Ron's chart of Canadian models.

NO polyurethane please. The finish used on these radios was lacquer and is actually easier to work with and repair than polyurethane. You'll find lots of threads in the cabinet restoration section on use of lacquer toners and clears.

Here's the TP-12 schematic..

Lots of friendly folks here to answer questions.

Hi again,
I've restored the radio, changed the caps and fire up. It's working, but I get a lot of noise. The hum is very minimal for a AA5 radio. What should I do to reduce the noise for this small Philco?
