Or, if Steve's (very generous) offer will take more time then you would like to wait, simply take a trimming cap (provided you have one as buying it will also take time) of maybe 20-40pF and solder it there.
People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

OK,, I forgot about Speaker.. I think I have a bad Transformer.. I will double check.. But how do you get the transformer off??
I would assume drilling the rivets But Not really sure how to do that with out damaging the speaker..
Help...

Skip, you need some sort of a stop on your drill bit, either a collar or a piece of tubing slipped over the bit that will not let the bit go through and puncture the cone. The only other safe way, would be to remove the cone.

You could also use a drill bit that is larger than the rivet. Proceed slowly until the head of the rivet is removed, and then the transformer should lift off. The remainder of the rivet can then be pulled out of the speaker frame
Of course you, must plan to replace the fastener when reattaching the transformer.. Check to see that you can get a screw and or nut into the space beneath the speaker frame without damaging the cone.
Best of luck,
Cheers,
Ed

You could also carefully grind the rivet heads off with a Dremel.

Ok found screws and mounted transformer.. all looks good.. On to power up..
At 115 Volts drawing about .8 amps .. The B+ was approx 260 Volts..Not sure what it should be.. Receiving stations across band.. So all looks good so far.. I didn't even put on the tube shield yet..
So on to alignment .. Probably just needs a minor adjustment.. I hope
Then on to Cabinet.. I know have 2 cabinets ready for Refinishing this one and a Crosley 124.. Hope the person I found close by can do them..
PS actually I think the Crosley sounds better than the philco..

Ok did a little more voltage checks..
RF Tube 24 Pin 2 289 Volts
1ST det 24 Pin 2 292 volts
2nd Det 24 Pin 2 241 Volts
Osc 27 Pin 2 82 Volts
Output 47 Pin 2 278 Volts
B+ 294 Volts
All voltages Reference to B- Not Ground
115Volts AC at .720 Amps 82 Watts
Question the OSC tube only has 82 volts on it Is that normal? I see there is a 13K resistor to B+ so I assume 82 volts is correct..

Ok, Alignment complete.. No problems.. Bought a alignment tool on ebay .. It made the process very easy.. The IF 's were off quite a bit.. Radio now plays better than before.. Playing well now on bench.. So now to get the Cabinet repaired,,

Double conversion is using two IF converters instead of one. This improves the image response.
