A huge RCA console model 816 K
#1

This one showed up on face book so I picked it up, for a decent price
 It has 16 tubes with motorized tuning. the Thing is huge and weighs a lot.
 The owner said it belonged to her mother and one day it just quit.
  I hope that no one has been in the chassis.
 The tenite at the top corners has warped, but in an even way so it is not too bad.

     The chassis is missing a small piece that goes into a black rubber holder ,for the set up for the electric tuning.
 I think it is just a metal shaft for adjustment.   { anybody  know????]

 It  won't get worked on for a while as I have cabinets to refinish while the weather is warm.
 It weight about as much as my Rogers 10-12 and it is BIG

Nice Dan! I saw it listed and I thought about taking a trip to Calgary to get it... but I have a 916 and it takes up soooo much real estate...

That's where the rod that is used for setting station presets is stored.

I thought  that the hole was for some sort of rod, but does the rod have  particular size and shape?

I have one in my collection. Really great radio. RCA was one of the best radio makers. Sometimes overlooked.      Icon_thumbup

Can you post a photo of the[part so I can see if i can fabricate one?

Dan;
It looks like one of the previous owners was a smoker given the "patina" all over the chassis. One of my Deforest Crosley sets looked like that, smelled like an ashtray too, though it went away over time. .
