Predicta Repairs Locally in So. Cal.?
#1

Hello,

I have the following TV's that all need some love....
Predicta Princess
Predicta Pedestal
Predicta Tandem
Sylvania Halolight

I have a great repair guy, but he can longer take in new jobs.
If anyone knows someone who does this work in the Southern California area....
I would love to know!

Thank you!

Hello Matt. A lot of vintage techs have been hanging up their practices lately. You might want to try contacting the California Historical Radio Society to see if anyone locally can assist you. https://californiahistoricalradio.com

Saddly, a lot of the techs knowledgable on these older sets are passing away, having health issues and simply aging. The youth doesn't have interest in this. Same with small engines. Those little shops that used to be every few blocks are long gone and a lot of the equipment went in the dumpster and the knowledge went to the grave. I've tried many times to get my son interested but he simply doesn't want to learn.  I went through a rebuild on his truck engine with him helping (not really by choice), and months later, he couldn't even remember how to check the oil! It's a different generation and I figure when I pass, also most of my things will also go to an auction or dumpster, my knowledge to the grave.

Considerable TV data is stored on World Radio History.

I get that there seems to be less & less who are capable & knowledgeable to play with the vintage TV's. The gent who I have been working with for years is hanging up his schematics & just told me he wished he had someone to teach his craft to. I have a batch of vintage cars & taught my youngest how to pull, rebuild & install a drivetrain for one of them. He is now ALL IN on our vintage car collection. Not sure I can convince him of the vintage electronic game though.

Well...If anyone knows of someone to refer me to; that would be much appreciated.
