model 89 toner color for top & sides?
#1

Deciding which color Mohawk Toner to use on the outer shell (top & sides) of my model 1935 model 89 cathedral (the one introduced in June of 1934). I have extra dark walnut, perfect brown, medium brown walnut, and dark walnut / oak here. It looks like it was pretty dark. I was leaning towards dark walnut / oak but am wondering what others have used or recommend? Thanks!

I have seen them many ways. Ex dark is almost black but looks good on the trim. I am not 100% sure about the original but it has probably darkened over the years so maybe a little lighter than it is now. Ron would know better.

I used dark walnut on my 84 and here is how it came out

That's what I thought, that the extra dark walnut looked too dark. I like how your 84 looks. That's about what shade my 89 is. But if Ron sees this, I'd welcome his advice as well. If anyone would know, my money is on him! Icon_smile
