Philco 80 Jr. Restoration Chronicles
#16

Is it my impression only or you work faster after falling off the roof? (no I am not suggesting you do that again, the effect might not necessarily be cumulative).
#17

Attempted to match the color by hand and not taped off the grill for toner

The middle section looks right, honey colored.

Then clear and the 2 week wait.

That looks much better than many of the 80's I've seen refinished.

Thanks guys. I need to rub them out but not until September right before K-town. Gotta cure more.

Go back to sleep. I have my parent's lawn sprinkler pump that is under my window.
What excuse do you have to be up this time of the night? Icon_smile

I'm up at 5:50 like clockwork every day. I take naps when pain killers run out of juice though. Icon_thumbdown

What color toners did you end up using for this?  I am doing a 81B and will need something similar.

Thanks, Bill

This is where I went with my JR.

IIRC the center was dark walnut and the outside was extra dark walnut. For the sides I went a coat less of extra dark so it is in between the two. May not be correct, but I like the way it looks. Icon_smile

And yes, I need to dust.  Icon_redface
