Which knobs are correct
#1

I have 2 Philco model 70s. One has the large tuning control knob (Rosette Style) and the tone and volume controls are the same style but slightly smaller and the power control knob is simular to the smaller knobs you'd see on the model 21. The other has the same large tuning control knob (Rosette Style) and all the other knobs are simular to the model 21s smaller knobs. So which is original. One of these model 70s is a parts rig. 8)

See the EARLY CATHEDRALS section of my site to help clarify your knob situation.
The 70 had different runs and had a knob change. All documented there.

Chuck, I'm still unsure. The graph points to rosette knobs yet the model 70 at the top of the page appears to have plain knobs. The working model 70 I have seems to have the same knob configuration as the model 90 at the top of your page. The parts 70 I have, has all plain knobs, with of course the exception of the tuning knob. So, still not quite sure on this issue. Can you shed more light. Am I reading your graph correctly? By "Rosette" in the knobs column, do you mean all of the knobs, just the tuning not, or?

Like it says in the info, use your set's Serial Number to determine where your set falls on the graph.
That will give your the approximate time frame for the most probable knobs your set would have had from the factory.
